After initial assessment, our gymnasium staff prescribe an individually designed program as required. Supervised workouts are provided initially, along with follow-up reviews - all included with your membership fees. Pilates Pilates (Pi-lah-teez) is a system of wholebody exercise that combines strengthening and stretching routines. The Pilates program is designed to strengthen and tone the whole body with particular attention to posture control and trunk strength. This emphasis results in a stronger, more stable trunk, which allows smoother, stronger and more efficient movement about it. Pilates is an old form of exercise originating from the work of Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. Pilates is suitable for all levels of ability and fitness, from beginner to elite athlete. More recently, Pilates has become popular amount both performing arts and sporting communities as a form of exercise to assist in rehabilitation and management of injuries as well as an excellent tool to assist in improving performance and fitness. It not only improves body toning, flexibility and posture but athletes also report improved performance through the increased efficiency gained through greater trunk control. Programs On Offer | ||
